"My grandmother taught me how to bake cakes and make chocolate figures in her home kitchen. That's how I became fascinated by this lovely profession. I am very grateful towards my employer Neuhaus, for giving me the opportunity to go to the World Expo in Shanghai, China. I am very proud to represent the Belgian company that actually invented the praline and the ballotin. The purpose of this mission is to promote my company Neuhaus and also to become more renowned personally. I hope to be able to create various new pralines in the future. I followed a professional training at Elishout in Anderlecht in the department patisserie and chocolaterie. After my apprenticeship with Belouet Conseil, I went to Lenôtre in Paris to refine my knowledge and techniques. After having worked for 3 years for Patisserie Lucas I started to work as Maître chocolatier for Neuhaus. Since 14 years now, I realize special projects for Neuhaus, e.g. : a range of icecream products. During a visit of the vice premier of China, Mr Wang, our CEO, Mr Linkens told him that Neuhaus chocolate is good for your "silhouette", but I am not sure this rule applies for the Maître chocolatier of Neuhaus…I am looking forward to spend a nice time in Shanghai and taste the real Chinese version of 'Nasi goreng'. Although I will miss my children, I am happy to participate in this project to learn the Chinese people how good the Neuhaus chocolates taste."
